Location, quiet apartment, remodeled kitchen, new tiles on floor.

Dirty, upon our arrival there was no toilet paper or soap! Blood stain in mattress, cockroach when we opened the door, at the entrance wires are hanging outside the wall. Towels worn out and old. While I was coming with taxi fotis didn't bother to call us to give us the codes which I didn't know we needed. I had to call even though the taxi driver called fotis twice and kindly asked him to call the lady as she wouldn't be able to get in. Doors in bad shape cracked, chopped off in corners. Not even the basics. And it is considered luxury apartment? Building in bad shape, looks like a slum.

The only good thing about this place is that it is cheap, but we would pay to get out of this place. Oh and the beds are quite clean.

We booked this apartment thinking that it would be a small but cozy and clean place, like how it was shown from the photos. Firstly, we shocked upon arrival to see that the apartment was located in a dingy, shady, and deserted back alley. There was no receptionist AT ALL. We had to telephone the apartment to get a "code" to enter the apartment. Needless to say, there was no security guard / staff either. The corridors of the apartment were unlit. We couldn't find a light switch for them either. As a result, we had to fumble around in near total darkness to find our room. We were told that our room was "Room 3" but the rooms weren't even numbered! After much trial and error, we finally found our room. It was on the second floor. There was no lift in the apartment. We ended up dragging two 20kg luggages up a narrow spiral staircase, still in near total darkness. We entered our room only to find that it was stuffy and hot, despite the air conditioning being set at 16 degrees Celsius. Needless to say, the air-con was not working! This was right in the middle of summer in Athens. The outside temperature exceeded 30 degrees Celsius. We were in despair. It should have been obvious that the air-con wasn't ever going to work, as the tiny air-con had to serve 2 bedrooms, 1 kitchen (joined with the shower) and a living room all at the same time. Nevertheless, we called the apartment and they sent a technician to fix the thing. However, even after it had been "fixed", the overworked air-con barely even made a difference. That was not the end of our troubles. The place was unclean and looked as if the previous patron had just left. The washed bedsheets were still hanging up for drying! There were even uncollected bedsheets in the laundromat. The laundromat was entirely useless as there was no laundry detergent to be found. Now this apartment is NOT a service apartment which meant that we had to wash and replace the towels on our own, and we saw that this was going to be an entirely hopeless exercise given that the laundromat was non-functional. Oh and YES, towels are provided BUT only for 1 day and if you are staying longer than that, you have to wash them yourself. To top all of this off, UPON ARRIVAL there was only LESS THAN HALF a roll of toilet paper left in the toilet and NO spare roll. It ran out in one night. Clearly, the apartment staff (if they even exist) never came in to clean up the place properly after the previous patron left. The apartment states online that toiletries would be provided, but NO toiletries were to be found save for the half-used roll of toilet paper. The shower was extremely tiny and cramped as well. DO NOT trust the pictures of this apartment on Booked.net and other booking websites. The actual apartment is a nightmare. We eventually chose to leave the apartment and booked another (much better) hotel. However, we had booked the 4-bed apartment with 2 other friends and they chose to stay behind due to budgetary constraints. Every day they had to come to our hotel and get us to request the hotel for more toilet paper and other toiletries. The apartment was also close to a "square" (which we initially mistook for Monastiraki Square) where delinquents and gangsters hung out. We felt unsafe. We would not recommend this apartment to anyone.
